Preparing Strawberry Pie Base Sauce with Gelatin, Cornstarch, Sugar, & Water

Preparing the base sauce for this Strawberry Pie Recipe is very similar to making JELLO. In addition to calling for 1 packet of Strawberry Gelatin Mix, we add Cornstarch, Granulated Cane Sugar, and Water. Stir continuously just until it boils and thickens. Remove from heat source immediately to prevent it from scorching. This Recipe called for the sliced strawberries to be placed in the Pre-Baked Pie Crust Shell, then pour the base sauce over it and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. I wasn't ready to do that, so I mixed the sliced strawberries with the base sauce, covered the bowl, and let it sit in the cool oven until I was ready to finish.
