Criminal Breaks Into Hotel Room & Interrupts An Affair By Assaulting The Couple.

Charles Schine, a Chicago advertising professional, lives with his wife Deanna and his daughter Amy that requires costly medicine for her type 1 diabetes.
Charles meets Lucinda Harris, an already-married financial professional, riding the commuter train to work one morning. They start meeting up more often after developing feelings for one another. They quickly determine that a dilapidated hotel is the place for them to have their affair. An armed guy interrupts Lucinda as she is unzipping Charles' pants and viciously rapes her. Charles is then beaten. After agreeing not to report the crime, Charles and Lucinda go their separate ways, hoping their partners will never find out about their affair.
The individual, who claims to be Philippe LaRoche, approaches Charles a few days later and demands $20,000 or threatens to murder Charles' family.
