We Are The World - Aid for Ethiopian famine or hidden agenda?

Shalom and welcome. Forty years after the great famine that affected Ethiopia from 1983-1985 I'm reflecting and commenting on one of several songs which were written and performed in order to raise money and awareness to the plight of a starving nation and its people. I've linked the 3 songs performed by the most popular artists of the time from the United Kingdom, Canada and the United states below. This video is focused on the track recorded in the United states by USA for Africa called We Are The World. Although it is a beautiful and emotionally moving song, as a follower of Christ and student of scripture I caught something strange and possible alarming in the lyrics.
