Harry Potter Series Eyes John Lithgow For Dumbledore & Cillian Murphy

The Harry Potter TV Series may have found it's Professor Albus Dumbledore in John Lithgow. Deadline reports that the actor is deep in talks to play Hogwarts' Headmaster, marking the first time an American lands a large role in a Harry Potter adaptation.

Cillian Murphy, who was rumored to be playing Lord Voldemort, is also in talks for a large role, but he will not be the Dark Lord after all. But from a certain point of view, he will be very Voldemort adjacent if the rumors are to be believed.

The Murphy rumor is pretty interesting, but while not as egregious as the Snape rumor, Lithgow as Dumbledore is not great news about what other casting decisions could be coming down the line.
