Nacho the dog is so excited to meet his newborn baby sister for the first time. This video is absolutely adorable! You see Nacho excited and spinning about the place. He is so thrilled to meet his new family member! You hear his owner trying to calm him down in order to prepare him for the nose to nose contact with the newborn baby girl.

We can't help but wonder which smells the dog is picking up that make him so excited and seemingly aware of what is about to happen? Dogs are smart, but come on. Do they actually understand child birth? The dog has a look on its face of pure excitement and joy.

When introducing your new child to existing canine family member, it is almost always a blessing, sometime which happens in disguise. In most cases, the dog will react accordingly. Yet, what if the pup starts barking right at the newborn baby face? And licking the baby all over before their immune system has fully developed? We've actually seen mothers with signs on their child carriers that say to stay away because of this fact. Does it apply to dogs? We would think so. Something to be aware of.

What else could go wrong? You never know. It is important to maintain good judgement and not get overwhelmed when in the company of your child and canine. For example, don't sit your child and dog on the couch then direct all of your attention to your camera in order to capture that "perfect moment." You would never want the dog to misunderstand your child’s small hands and lash out. Be aware of how each situation could play out. And never leave your children and dog unattended, unless you are more than comfortable with their relationship.

It is important to be familiar with the dog breed and personality trails. Another example, we are sure it wouldn't be too common, is never adopt a new dog into a new family. It is important to establish your dynamic as you go. Researching the best breed to be a best friend is a great idea in preparation for adopting a dog into your growing family. For example, dogs with trails of possessiveness wouldn't be a good fit due to the fact that they will react negatively when their toys are taken away. Your young child won't understand this possession and could reach for their favourite toy when you're not looking. Dog attacks can be fatal for both the child and the canine. It is always better to be safe than sorry!

Allowing your child to grow up in the company of a canine is a magnificent way to teach your children respect and how to properly interact with dogs and other animals. It teaches them to bond and connect with someone outside of their own selves. It enables companionship and the ability to communicate at a young age, usually without the realization! Learning to pick up the cues of what a dog responds to, wants and needs, is an amazing way to teach your children how to learn the rules of society and how to react to other people accordingly while picking up their cues. The potential for love the two may share is indescribable.

From the very start, this child will be blessed with the sheer joy the dog expresses each moment. Their happiness is contagious. Your dog will also teach your child responsibility as you introduce tasks and chores into their daily routine for taking care of the animals. When they grow older, you never know how the dog may affect their way of living, perception of the world or what they set out to do with their lives.

In the case of this video, the dog is obviously an already established member of this family. The owner knows how the dog will react around kids and understands his excitement. He does his best to calm him down and keeps the dog from getting too close to the newborn child. It all went well because the parents know their dog so well. No harm done, we are excited for the baby that she gets to grow up with a dog by her side. There is truly nothing like the relationship they may develop to share.
