Afghan drives his car into a trade union demonstration in Munich

A car has been driven into a trade union demonstration in Munich, injuring at least 28 people, some of them critically and some are children.

The police report that they have detained the driver, a 24-year-old Afghan.

The governor of Bavaria said that it appears to be an attack.

The German city is preparing to host the highest-level security conference starting tomorrow, with the arrival today of the U.S. vice president and the Ukrainian president.
