DOGE Subcommittee Hearing on Government Waste

Witnesses testified on government waste and efficiency during the first House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) hearing, chaired by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Topics included fraud in government entitlement programs and efforts by Elon Musk and the Trump Administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to reduce government spending. Democratic lawmakers questioned their counterparts on government spending, citing Mr. Musk's federal contracts and allegations he accrues $8M dollars daily. Republican lawmakers cited former Democratic presidents who were pro-government efficiency when it fit their politics and encouraged their fellow lawmakers to work to make government more efficient instead of countering policies in court
