There will be one less place to recycle in Kansas City, at least temporarily, come Saturday when the city will close its recycling center near the old Metro North Mall at 8729 North Summit Street. The city said the owners of the old Metro North Mall are redeveloping the property and their plans include using the current recycling center site. The city plans to open a new recycling center in the Northland in 2019. Right now, it is searching for the proper location.
