Bo Peep Don't Freak

There are a couple of stories about cookies and pancakes that come to life as they are being baked or cooked and they instantly know that they are going to be devoured by hungry children. It's basically the same story, so whichever you identify with, imagine that. I'm going to go with cookie man. Or, gingerbread man, I think it is.

Without going in depth into the story and the animal representations, let's just say that Gingerbread Man has to avoid each animal's cunning tricks & come-ons, less he become a yummy snack.

As I progressed through time and briefly walked the path of fairy tale allegory, it dawned on me that stories like this were warning children of the dangers that await them in "real life" away from the relative safety of home. Keep in mind that these fairy tales were (probably, and I believe that they were) written down and adapted from oral traditions of pre-literate humans.

Did you grow up with rhymes that weren't sampled from 1970s funk jams? If so they have probably stuck in your mind. What if those nursery rhymes were combined with self defense/hand-to-hand combat maneuvers?
