Natural Pools of the RIO RONCADOR, Brazil 💧

This is wonderful natural pool i have ever seen before, the color of water looks pretty brown
By car, 18 km or 40 minutes along a dirt road to the small village of Remanso, then 2 hours in a boat or kayak ( local guides will row together with you ) through the beautiful swamp with views to the mountains. Back on our feet it is a 30 minutes walk to the big swimming holes of the Roncador river . We return to Remanso by boat, or you can choose to camp on the Roncador river.Show more

This stretch of the Santo Antonio River spreads across the land to create the Marimbus Wetland. This is a large fresh water swamp ( often called mini-pantanal by the locals ) extending about 30km covered by semi-aquatic plants and home to an ever-decreasing population of terrapins, alligators, anacondas and many other amphibians, unfortunately very difficult to see, as well as a large number of fish and many species of birds.
The community of this village of Remanso is officially a ” Quilombo”, which is a settlement of escaped slaves. Principally one family, has been mainly dependent on fishing until tourism was introduced a few years ago.
One of the bigger rivers in the region has huge swimming holes that are great for swimming. When heavy rain occurs, swimming is not possible.
