This is the bad ending for Solaire of Astora in Dark Souls. If you don’t take steps to prevent it, Solaire falls victim to the Sunlight Maggot in Lost Izalith, going insane and attacking the player. Instead of fulfilling his quest to find his own sun, he dies a tragic death, lost to despair.

He is encountered after crossing the bridge in Lost Izalith. There is a Titanite Demon on the bridge.
