**Ingredients:**
- **For the Thick Milk (Rabri):**
- 1 liter milk
- ½ cup cream
- ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon cardamom seeds, powdered
- 2 teaspoons kewra water
- 4 tablespoons cornflour
- ½ cup milk (for dissolving cornflour)
- **For the Caramel Sauce:**
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1½ cups milk powder
- ½ cup cream
- **For the Bread Layer:**
- Large bread slices, as required
- Cooking oil, for frying
- **For the Sugar Syrup (Sheera):**
- 1 cup water
- 2-3 green cardamom pods
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- **For Garnishing:**
- Sliced pistachios
- Sliced almonds
**Instructions:**
1. **Prepare the Thick Milk (Rabri):**
- In a wok, combine 1 liter of milk and ½ cup of cream. Whisk well and bring to a boil.
- Add ½ cup of sugar, ½ teaspoon of powdered cardamom seeds, and 2 teaspoons of kewra water. Mix thoroughly and cook until the sugar dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve 4 tablespoons of cornflour in ½ cup of milk.
- Gradually add the dissolved cornflour to the boiling milk mixture, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens. Set aside to cool.
2. **Prepare the Caramel Sauce:**
- In a frying pan over very low heat, caramelize ½ cup of sugar until it turns brown, gently stirring the pan occasionally.
- Add 1 cup of milk and mix well until the caramel dissolves completely.
- Stir in 1½ cups of milk powder until fully combined.
- On low heat, add ½ cup of cream. Whisk well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Let it cool, then transfer to a piping bag.
3. **Prepare the Bread Layer:**
- Trim the edges of the bread slices and cut them into rectangular pieces.
- In a frying pan, heat cooking oil and fry the bread pieces on medium flame until golden and crispy on both sides.
4. **Prepare the Sugar Syrup (Sheera):**
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2-3 green cardamom pods, and ½ cup of sugar. Mix well and bring to a boil.
- Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, mix thoroughly, and cook until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool completely.
5. **Assemble the Dessert:**
- In a serving dish, spread a layer of the prepared caramel sauce and thick milk (rabri).
- Dip the fried bread pieces into the cooled sugar syrup and arrange them over the rabri layer.
- Add another layer of thick milk, followed by a sprinkle of sliced pistachios and almonds.
- Drizzle with additional caramel sauce.
- Repeat the layers as desired, ending with a layer of thick milk.
- Garnish with more caramel sauce and a sprinkle of sliced pistachios and almonds.
- Refrigerate until chilled (1-2 hours) before serving.
