Soldiers assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (LI), weigh equipment and finalize load plans at Fort Drum, New York, to ensure the unit is ready to depart in support of U.S. Northern Command for the southern border surge. U.S. Northern Command is working together with the Department of Homeland Security to augment U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the southern border with additional military forces.
