Why won't the Mayor & Councillors Ban Gifts? Are Free Perks More Important Than Integrity?

I have asked on 3 separate occasions now September 23, 2024, December 16, 2024, and February 3, 2025 for a seconder to bring forward a motion that would ban the Mayor, Councillors, City Staff, and our Families from accepting any gifts and benefits from lobbyists, developers, or anyone looking for favours or to do business with the city.
Fun fact: Did you know there was no lobbyist registry in the City of Pickering until this term? In which I seconded the motion to bring it on board.
