do you remember..
it was January of 1990, and Nissan surged into the new decade by unleashing one of the greatest moments in automotive marketing history. In an otherwise yawn-worthy blowout between the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos (final score: 55-10), Nissan unleashed this beauty of a commercial, titled "Dreamer" - directed by Ridley Scott.

the commercial depicted a dream sequence where the narrator, driving a Nissan 300ZX Turbo, is pursued by motorcycles, a menacing F1-type car, and even an airplane, but manages to escape thanks to the car's 300hp twin turbo V6.
the ad was criticized by the media for glorifying dangerous high-speed driving - leading to protests from law enforcement, insurance companies and physicians. as a result, Nissan decided never to air it again after its initial broadcast.
this is my all-time favorite.
