MAHER: “I noticed that at the Super Bowl, for the first time in I think four years now, the Trump Administration is making them take away ‘End racism,’ which they had written in the end zone, right?”
PALMERI: “But why? It just seems silly.”
MAHER: “To do it or not to do it?”
PALMERI: “Why get rid of it?”
MAHER: “Oh, I could tell you why.”
(Laughter)
PALMERI: “I know, but it’s just, like — “
MAHER: “Because it was stupid to begin with.”
PALMER: “Yeah, but —”
MAHER: “Let me ask you, who is it for? And if you’re a racist and you see ‘End racism’ in the end zone, you’re going to stop being a racist?”
(Laughter and Applause)
PALMERI: “The sentiment is basically ‘Don’t be an as*hole.’”
MAHER: “But I think it’s an as*hole to nag us during the football game about something that doesn’t change anything. If I’m not a racist and I see it, it doesn’t matter. And if I am a racist, it’s just going to make me more of a racist.”
Donalds: “I think if you write ‘Don’t be an as*hole’ in the end zone, everyone will agree with that.”
(Cheering and Applause)
MAHER: “The problem is, we all think the other guy’s an as*hole!”
PALMERI: “And no one thinks they’re a racist.”
MAHER: “Well, there are some people who proudly think they’re racist. The guy that — Trump kid, you didn’t see that tweet this week?”
PALMERI: “Oh, yeah, he said, ‘I’m proudly racist,’ something like that.”
MAHER: “‘I was racist before it was cool.’ This is one of the incels, one of the geek squad incels that Musk has going — and then Musk tweeted out, ‘Should he stay in his job?’ And 78% said, yes, he should. Again, I don’t think all 78% are racist. I think some of them are, and some of them are like, ‘This is a revolt against cancel culture.’ This is my point. It’s never just a reaction. It’s always a overreaction. You went too far with cancel culture bullsh*t and this is what you get.”
