"Rendering to Caesar and to God" Matthew 22:19,20,21#shorts #youtube #jesus #ytshorts #yt #shortvid In Matthew 22:19-21, the Pharisees and the Herodians try to trap Jesus with a question about paying taxes to the Roman government. They ask whether it is lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, hoping to get Him into trouble either with the Jewish people or the Roman authorities.

Jesus, knowing their intent, asks them to show Him a coin used for the tax. When they bring Him a denarius, He points to the image and inscription of Caesar on it and says:

"Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God."
