Edo the French bulldog shows us how to handle the paparazzi with dignity and aplomb. If he’s embarrassed, we will never know it. He looks quite dashing, actually.

Well done, Monsieur Barber. Do you take walk-ins, or do you work by appointment, only?

“Edo is a mess. What can you do with him?”

“I will transform him into a gentleman, Madame.”

We can almost imagine Edo with a top hat and diamond studded cane, seated at an outdoor café, one leg crossed over the other, reading up on the latest gossip in Le Temps, while eating slices of baguette with brie. He is an elegant looking fellow, isn’t he? Some dogs might look rather comical in the same situation; it’s just who they are, but not Edo. Somehow, “comical” is an unfair appellation to a young master like Edo. He bears huge amounts of stateliness. No whimpering or licking; no whining, and barely any trace of nervousness. He shows concern, of course, but only that his hair dresser gets it right.

Edo gets credit for reflecting positively on his mistress. She must be proud of his looks and behavior. For her part, Edo is a lucky dog to belong to such a caring owner. She chose well.

The French bulldog or “Frenchie” is a small breed with a long life span of about 10 to 12 years. Besides being affectionate and playful, the Frenchie is very bright. That much is obvious. Edo demonstrates another obvious feature, and that is the large bat wing ears. These make Edo look extremely alert. French Bulldogs are also on the expensive side as dogs go, up to several thousands of dollars, because they are difficult to breed. Usually, this is taken care of in a more *ahem* artificial manner. If the French Bulldog fails to impress in one area, it might be their ability to reproduce naturally.

They are typically a quiet dog, who only bark when in distress or to announce strangers. Again, Edo exemplifies the Frenchie’s reserved nature. In every way, Edo is an excellent example of the French Bulldog physical traits and temperament. His fur is also a beautiful charcoal color, with a healthy sheen, and slightly wrinkled forehead. Very thoughtful looking.

If you’re looking for a dog that is good with children, then the French Bulldog wins again. They actually need human companionship. They are trustworthy to a “T”, and are of the perfect disposition for a family pet. Their low noise, small frame, and peaceful character make them an excellent choice for urban and apartment dwelling families.

Of course, we can’t see much else of Edo in this video, since he’s covered in a trendy surf dog bib, but if we could see more of him we would probably see short little legs mounted on a 12 inch frame. He almost certainly weighs under 30 pounds, but probably not even 25 pounds. He probably has a stubby little tail. If Edo plays his cards right, he can look forward to a long, lustrous, and happy life.
