I. The Problem of Trust

II. Trust is the Foundation of the Kingdom - Ephesians 1:13-14
* A. We come to faith by trusting the message of the Gospel
* 1. We believed the unpopular truths about our condition
* a. We are sinners having violated God’s Holy Law
* b. The wages of sin is death in the lake of fire
* c. The only means of salvation is by Christ’s death on the cross
* 2. Our response to God’s Message to us involves: 
* a. Repentance for all our violations of God’s Law 
* b. Believing all of God’s Word 
* c. Receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior
* B. The Work of the Holy Spirit 
* 1. We are sealed by the Spirit
* a. A mark of ownership by God and authenticity
* b. An internal reality - 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
* 2. We are given the “earnest of our inheritance”
* a. The beginning of that inheritance we experience now in this life
* b. The promised redemption of the purchased possession - downpayment guarantee 
* c. Disciples grow in trust of one another, building a culture of trust
