Battle of Manila Eighty-Year Commemoration | Day 4: February 6, 1945 | Tio Banana

The Battle of Manila was fought between February 3 and March 3, 1945. To observe this anniversary, Tio Banana is composing ideas each day, in preparation for a piece of music to commemorate the Battle and those who served in the combat, endured the destruction, and lost their lives. Today's idea is a short melodic phrase. February 6, 1945: "[MacArthur's] headquarters announced to the world at six-thirty a.m. the liberation of the Philippine capital....The Battle of Manila, in fact, had not even truly begun."
