In 1995, Nelson Mandela posed the question: how can the people of Africa expect the continent to grow if 52% of the population is on the periphery. He was of course referring to women’s role in spurring development. And 30 years later, Africa is still putting a lot of effort into unleashing its people’s potential, but women’s capabilities are, for the most part, as limited as they used to be. However, Rwanda, for example, has more women in its juridical system than any other country in the world. Additionally, Africa has the youngest population. It's high time this energy and potential be given an opportunity for growth and success.
