Deck Showcase: BRS - SSP | Terapagos

My Terapagos deck showcase for BRS - SSP (F Block and on).

Terapagos is a fine archetype in the BRS - PRE format. If you've watched my deck profile on it, you would see the multitude of lines that the archetype can play.

I was playing a lot of Chien Pao before PRE came out, and after seeing how much people wanted to do whatever they could so that I couldn't play the game (scrapping charizard and regidrago for budew), I decided to scrap Chien Pao for the start of this format to get some good data with Terapagos. Chien Pao would've been a good deck to make a profile on, but it wouldn't have been good for the continuity of the format since I brought it back out for Regidrago and Charizard and nobody is playing those decks right now.

Terapagos also is a deck that, like Chien Pao, you need a lot of practice on, and so since I'm pretty familiar with Chien Pao already, I want to start refining my skill with Terapagos so when rotation hits, I'm not blindsided by the absence of Irida and Radiant Greninja.

In this session, I got a lot of good practice with the deck and got a little more familiar with some lines I can take in certain scenarios to win against matchups that I otherwise wouldn't have an edge in.

One takeaway from this showcase I can give is that if you're losing against matchups, it doesn't mean you have to overhaul your whole list and make it super consistent against those matchups. It isn't "making a new archetype", it's just overtuning an already existing archetype. Play it vanilla and work from there.

Thanks for listening and I hope you continue to support my work.
