Tough elk hunting in tough country- Idaho elk hunting 2024

My last weekend of elk hunting was rugged and exciting. I followed a fresh set of tracks for 5 miles up 1600ft of elevation into the mountains. Unfortunately, I never caught up with any elk this year. Really, spending your days roaming around the mountains off trail in the high country is pretty darn good despite not harvesting an elk.
