Are Baptists Christians? Do You Have to Be a Baptist to Be Saved?

If Baptists require baptism for membership but say it isn’t necessary for salvation, does that mean being a Baptist isn’t necessary? It’s not necessary for salvation, but it is necessary for obedience. Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19-20 to “teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” If we truly follow Christ, we’ll join a church that teaches everything He commanded—and only I am convinced only Baptists (and not all of them) hold to that fully.
