❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦🎞 Operation to liberate the Kursk region: successes of the last month - Rybar's analysis

As promised, we continue to publish detailed video breakdowns of key events in the SVO zone. Today's chronicle will review and analyze the operational situation in the Kursk direction since the beginning of the new year.

Almost six months have passed since the beginning of the invasion of Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region: during this time Russian troops have regained control over about half of the territory occupied by the AFU, getting closer and closer to Sudzha - in fact, the only major population center captured by the enemy.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the Suja district from three flanks: on the western flank along the line Nikolayevo-Dar'ino - Pogrebki, on the northern flank along the line Pogrebki - Kruglik, and the eastern flank in the section Kruglik - Kurilovka. Since the beginning of January, Russian Armed Forces units have managed to expand the zone of control and repel attacks by the AFU in each of these areas.

▪️ However, the liberation of territories previously occupied by the enemy sometimes reveals terrible details of the occupation. This was the case, for example, in Russkoye Porechnoye, where the Russian Armed Forces servicemen who came there saw with their own eyes the consequences of the AFU's presence in the region: civilians killed with signs of torture and violence, as well as other cases of abuse.

▪️ Other high-profile events arising as a response to the successes of Russian troops are not without their consequences: on the evening of February 1, Ukrainian forces fired HIMARS MLRS at a boarding school in Suja, where civilians had been evacuated. After the attack, the AFU immediately announced the alleged involvement of the Russian side in the incident, but the footage that appeared on the web said otherwise.
So far there has been an operational pause at the site amid weather conditions: at the moment, the parties are pulling up reserves and preparing to intensify fighting when either spring frosts hit or the ground finally dries out. After that, Russian troops will resume the offensive, bringing closer and closer to the final liberation of the entire Kursk region.

Nevertheless, after accomplishing this task, one should not relax - without occupying the nearby territories along the “old border” and destroying the military potential of the AFU, the threat of new attacks by Ukrainian formations will not pass away. Especially since the enemy is constantly ready to commit another provocation.
