Bill Gates talks new book, relationship with *Trump*, views on *Musk*

Bill Gates briefly opened up about why he feels his divorce from Melinda French Gates was his biggest regret, but said he has moved on from the split and is enjoying spending time with his girlfriend, Paula Hurd.

"My business career, although there's been some ups and downs, has been incredibly phenomenal, my kids are phenomenal, so it's even hard for me to say, you know, complain about things," Gates said on NBC's "TODAY" show when asked about a recent interview with The Times of London.

During the interview, the Microsoft billionaire had said his divorce was "the mistake I most regret."

But it seems Gates, 69, is in a much better place.

"I moved past the divorce," he said on the "TODAY" show. "And Melinda's doing well. I got a lot of work that I love to do so I'm not really complaining about anything."

He added: "The divorce wasn't great. Having those three kids, the work we were able to do together — even if I knew that it wouldn't last forever, I would still do it again."

Gates said he has moved on and is "lucky to have a serious girlfriend."
