Objective: that the brethren don’t be complacent on their Christian lives and be zealous to perform their duties

Intro:
Define – complacent/complacency, distaste, spue/spew

How is Complacency Distasteful:
1) It is likened to lees – residue, out-of-shape – Zephaniah 1:12
2) Relaxed in the face of intense expectation - Amos 6:1
3) Lazy and cannot hear clearly/promptly- deaf? Isaiah 32:9
a) Careless – no concern

a) No time/money? - Haggai 1:2
5) Covetous - Ezekiel 33:31
6) Not seeking the Lord - back-sliders - Zephaniah 1:6
7) Prideful - Ezekiel 28:2 – heart is lifted up, Deuteronomy 8:14 – “forget”
8) Slothful and Wasteful - Proverbs 12:27
9) Distasteful to the Lord and will be judged accordingly - Revelation 3:15-16

Application: How not to be complacent:
1. Be mindful of the Fact that even small matters of complacency can lead to your fall
1 Corinthians 10:12
2. Follow the Faithful - Hebrews 6:12

Message/conclusion:

Let us honor the Lord with worthy service and don’t be complacent on our Christian lives and be zealous to perform our duties
