The Giants of Daisen | Japanese Giant Salamander Documentary

Japanese Giant Salamanders (オオサンショウウオ) are a real life river monster! Found in the wilds of Tottori, the Japanese Giant Salamander (or Hanzaki) is now threatened by human activities in their nature land. Richard Pearce and the locals of Daisen are working to protect their habitat, under the shadows of Japan's most sacred mountain, Mt Daisen. I went to Daisen to film and show the story of their work to the world and take part in the Save The Japanese Giant Salamander Campaign.
