IBRAHIM TRAORÉ: 'EMMANUEL MACRON SHOULD PRAY TO AFRICANS'

On 6 January, French President Emmanuel Macron shocked many by referring to African leaders with the following, ‘In the fight against t*rrorism… I believe that they forgot to say ‘thank you’ to us. It is not serious. It will come with time.’

What exactly should Africa thank Macron for? According to Malian Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga (@Gal_Abd_Maiga on X), upon being expelled from the West African country, France ‘violated Malian airspace by flying vectors, such as drones, military helicopters and fighter planes, over it more than 50 times, providing intelligence, weapons and munitions to t*rrorist groups.’ Further, the death rate due to t*rrorism spiked 10-fold between 2007 and 2021. Experts point to the 2011 NATO invasion of Libya, which destroyed Africa’s once-most prosperous country, allowing Libyan arms to flood the Sahara Desert. Now, the Sahel leads as the most t*rror-ridden region globally with 43 per cent of related deaths. Should Africans thank France for aiding and abetting t*rrorist organisations?

Macron appears to have had a series of recent colonialist meltdowns. On 19 December 2024, he gave a speech to an angry crowd in French-occupied Mayotte, suggesting that the indigenous Comorians ought to be thankful for French colonialism.

In this video, Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traoré sets the record straight by saying Macron should be grateful for Africans to the point of praying to us.

Interestingly, former French presidents have admitted France developed on Africa’s back. In 2008, former French President Jacques Chirac (1932-2019), stated, ‘Without Africa, France will sink to the level of a Third [World] power.’ Meanwhile, former French President François Mitterand (1916-96) once wrote, ‘Without Africa, there will be no history of France in the 21st century.’

Reality is getting harder to deny, and Traoré is not here to sugarcoat it.
