The Democrats' Death Cult And Their Lies About 'Choice'

Posted • February 3, 2025: In some ways, I shouldn't be surprised that people who believe killing unborn children in the womb is a right will lie to defend that position. When the wholesale murder of millions of babies makes them feel morally superior, there are no depths to which they won't sink. But the truth means something. Laws mean something. And when they lie, they must be called out for it. Additionally, it's the Left who insists abortion is about a woman's body and a woman's choice. This story -- and the people who scream loudest about 'reproductive rights' -- flies in the face of that sentiment. Let's start with the background here. New York-based abortionist Margaret Carpenter is facing extradition to Louisiana, where she was recently indicted for criminal abortion. Carpenter prescribed an abortion pill to the mother of a pregnant Louisiana teen, who was coerced into taking the medication and terminating her pregnancy.

Here's what The Advocate wrote: “A West Baton Rouge Parish grand jury indicted a New York doctor Friday for allegedly prescribing an abortion pill online to a minor teenage girl in Port Allen and the girl's mother for coercing her to take the medicine to end her pregnancy. District Attorney Tony Clayton said a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dr. Margaret "Maggie" Carpenter, 55, and the teen's 39-year-old mother, whom The Advocate isn't identifying since her daughter is a minor. She and Carpenter were charged with criminal abortion by means of abortion-inducing drugs. If convicted, the felony carries a possible one- to five-year prison sentence. It is the first criminal indictment of its kind in Louisiana, Clayton said, and he wasn't aware of another case nationwide, in which a doctor was charged for providing abortion pills online.”

Here we have a teenage girl who was pregnant. It's not an ideal situation, but this girl made it very clear she wanted to have this baby and -- according to reports -- planned a gender reveal party for her child. With the help of an out-of-state doctor who never met or examined this girl, the teen's mother forced her to take medication that ended a wanted pregnancy. I'll leave the particulars of the law to those better educated on this issue. At a minimum, Carpenter should lose her license to practice medicine and should probably face charges in Louisiana. But I want to focus here on what New York governor Kathy Hochul has to say on this issue. -- Governor Kathy Hochul @GovKathyHochul: “Louisiana is attempting to prosecute a New York doctor for providing reproductive health care. After Roe was overturned, I signed laws to protect patients & doctors from exactly this type of action. We will not comply with an extradition request. We will remain a safe harbor.”

Not a word about the teenage girl who didn't want an abortion. Did you notice that? Hochul, like all pro-abortion folks, has one ultimate goal in mind: the death of an unborn child. How that death happens is immaterial. It doesn't seem to matter to Hochul, who wants to remain a 'safe harbor' for 'reproductive rights' that this girl's body and choice were violated by both Carpenter and her mother. Where are the girl's reproductive rights on this? Where is her right to bodily autonomy? The girl ended up in the hospital from complications related to the abortion pill and she lost her unborn child. She will spend the rest of her life grieving for the son or daughter she loved and will never know. Thanks to the selfishness of her mother, as well as the duplicitousness of Carpenter and Hochul, this girl suffered a trauma. Where is her 'safe harbor'?

The implications here are also alarming. Carpenter prescribed these pills for a mother to give to her underage daughter. But what would stop Carpenter from prescribing them to a man for his pregnant girlfriend? Nothing. Not a thing. Pro-life advocates and lawmakers have pointed to this very problem with on-demand, mail-order abortion pills. The concept is fertile ground for abuse. And Kathy Hochul does not care about the women and girls who fall victim to this. She will lie to protect their abusers.
