Always quarantine feeder fish at least two weeks.
Goldfish usually are the worst feeders because of disease and quality.
I like to use tropical fish not sure if its that much better but I quarantine and feed them well. Anytime Petsmart sells the fish for $1 I will buy some and feed my fish with them.
