"Welcome to the Shuv Show. I’m your host, Christene Jackman.
Tonight’s topic is the phrase “three days journey” found in Genesis, Exodus, and Numbers.
The first usage is found once in Beresheet/Genesis 30:36, when Laban craftily pilfers Jacob’s specific sheep and goats and gives them to his sons to spirit away from Jacob:

“And he put three days' journey (de’-rech shlo’-shet yamim) between himself and Jacob, and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.”

The question is this: is this phrase a “three days journey” literal or is it a figure of speech, an idiom?

“An idiom is an expression, word, or phrase that has a figurative meaning conventionally understood by native speakers. This meaning is different from the literal meaning of the idiom's individual elements. In other words, idioms do not mean exactly what the words say.” . . . "
