Tonight’s topic is the phrase “three days journey” found in Genesis, Exodus, and Numbers.
The first usage is found once in Beresheet/Genesis 30:36, when Laban craftily pilfers Jacob’s specific sheep and goats and gives them to his sons to spirit away from Jacob:

“And he put three days' journey (de’-rech shlo’-shet yamim) between himself and Jacob, and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.”

The question is this: is this phrase a “three days journey” literal or is it a figure of speech, an idiom?
