On more than one occasion I came across rumors saying that Erdoğan's mother is Jewish, so is Osama Bin Laden's mother, she's a yemeni Jew, imagine for a minute a crypto Jew being the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.

A "crypto Jew" in Turkey refers to a member of the "Dönme" community, a group of people who outwardly converted to Islam but secretly maintained Jewish beliefs and practices, stemming from the 17th-century (1666)Jewish messianic figure Sabbatai Zevi who was forced to convert to Islam under Ottoman rule; 
essentially, they are "crypto-Jews" who appear Muslim publicly but hold Jewish faith in secret.
