Expert Driving Through Flooded Roads
Occurred on September 15, 2018 / Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA
Info from Licensor: "I was driving through rising floodwaters as a result from Hurricane Florence, on the edge of Jacksonville, North Carolina. I was driving a 4wd 2005 Toyota 4Runner with a 3-foot lift, 10k lb. Winch, SR5 4.7l v8, with an attached snorkel. Bill Willett owns and drives the vehicle. The vehicle and occupants were part of rescue operations during Hurricane Florence. Both inbound and outbound lanes were covered in water, but the outbound lanes were more shallow. The inbound lanes had a sunken vehicle owned by the local sheriff's department, which was part of the decision in how to approach this crossing. Bill Willett, Dennis Shaeffer, and Joe Bear walked the floodwaters to check the depth before the crossing was attempted. Bryanne Bathory recorded the video."
