Farmer Scared By Protective Mama Cow

Cows, like any domestic animals, will not attack a person for no reason. More often than not, a cow would approach a stranger only due to its curiosity, or in the hope of getting some goodies. If a cow just went forward to check on a person this cannot be interpreted as an act of aggression. The cow is most likely just interested in the new smell because believe it or not, cows are very curious animals. Cows are also known to love music and they are attracted to people with tender voices.

However, as you can see in the video above, they are known to attack people, especially in cases when the cow is a female and accompanied by her young calf, in order to protect it protect from danger. Bulls are a totally different story: they attack without any warning because a bull is the owner of the herd and does not like newcomers. Therefore, do not behave freely with these animals, the country kid knows their habits and behavior much better than the urban adult.

The signs of aggression on the bovine's behalf are the characteristic inclination of the head so that the horns can be handled more conveniently. After all, the horns are the main weapon of these animals.

We also know cases of attacks of cows on people who were dressed in brightly screaming colors (not just red), sharply moving or loudly screaming. Therefore, when meeting an unfamiliar animal, you should never raise your voice, move abruptly or run in their direction.

But nothing of the sort happened to the person that was brave enough to make the video above. On on September 20, 2018, in Greenfield, Iowa, USA, this man was only doing his job and marking the calves on a local ranch. Watch and see this angry mom's reaction!

The brave soul said: "I work on a family operation in Iowa and was making my rounds checking and tagging new calves so they didn't get separated from their mothers. When I stopped to tag a new calf, her momma came out of nowhere. I wasn't even able to get out of my UTV before she had me pinned in the passenger seat."

Urban residents who have not been to the countryside and have no experience in communication with cows face problems when chancing to meet cows. Anyone would be anxious wondering if there is a possible bull somewhere around as well.

Any animal can attack a person, regardless of their sex. This also applies to cows. There are also theories cows are not taken to bullfighting, but because they are several times more dangerous than bulls, and cannot be distracted by waving a red cloth but immediately go to persecute the offending person. Maybe this is just an urban myth, but it goes to support what we could see in the video above.
