Here's how you can help our region's children

It’s part of a nationwide program called Generation to Generation, or Gen2Gen, aims to mobilize one million adults to help children thrive. The work is important for both the kids who get help and the adults who help them, said Craig Young, the executive director of Inspiring Service, which is implementing Gen2Gen here. “All the evidence shows that people who engage in volunteerism live longer, are happier and healthier,” he said. “It’s good for the volunteer, but it’s really critical for our young people in our community to have access to the skills and the knowledge and the experience that these adults have to offer.”
