Guarding the Soul: How Serious Followers of Christ Can Resist Demonic Influence in Modern Society

In today’s world, demonic influence is often dismissed as a relic of the past, something belonging to ancient superstition rather than modern reality. Yet, for serious followers of Christ, the Bible makes it clear that spiritual warfare is very real. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” In a society that normalizes sin, mocks faith, and distorts truth, believers must be vigilant in recognizing and resisting the subtle and not-so-subtle ways in which demonic forces operate. So, how can we avoid or ignore these powers while staying rooted in Christ?
