- ½ tsp **cumin powder**
- ½ tsp **coriander powder**
- ¼ tsp **asafoetida (hing)** (optional)
- Fresh **coriander leaves** (for garnish)

1️⃣ **Cook the Mash Daal:**
- Wash the **moong daal** thoroughly under cold water.
- In a pot, add **water, salt, turmeric powder**, and **ginger-garlic paste** to the daal.
- Cook on medium heat until the daal is completely soft and mushy. This should take about **15-20 minutes**. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed to achieve your desired consistency.
2️⃣ **Prepare the Tadka (Tempering):**
- In a small pan, heat **ghee or oil**.
- Add **cumin seeds** and **dried red chilies**. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
