The MPI-KM (Maschinenpistole Kalaschnikow Modernisiert) is the East German version of the Soviet AKM assault rifle. It was produced in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the 1960s and became the standard weapon of the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) and other security forces.
