Russian Military Aircraft Unsafe and Unprofessional Conduct in Alaska ADIZ
COLORADO, UNITED STATES
09.23.2024

On September 23, 2024, a US Air Force F-16 under the command of North American Aerospace Defence Command was conducting a routine intercept of a Russian Tu-95 aircraft in the Alaskan Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) when a Russian Su-35 aircraft engaged in an unsafe manoeuvre directed at the F-16. Gen. Gregory Guillot, Commander of NORAD and the United States Northern Command, commented on the action, saying, "On Monday (September 23), NORAD aircraft flew a safe and disciplined intercept of Russian military aircraft in the Alaskan ADIZ." The behaviour of one Russian Su-35 was risky, unprofessional, and endangered everyone - hardly what you would expect from a professional air force." (department of defence video)
