I was spending some time with my son before bed last night and he asked me to flex. Then he asked me… “Do you think I'll be as strong as you when I’m older?”

“You’ll be WAY stronger than me” I said.

Then he flexed, I felt his muscles and told him that he was almost there.

He went to sleep knowing he was strong and his dad was strong.

No matter what I’ve looked like, my son has always thought I was the strongest man in the world. Even at my heaviest and most sloppy, he didn’t see it.

That’s an amazing part of HIM, not me. I was taking those words for granted.

I was taking those compliments as I was sleeping in, binge eating, not working out, and modeling bad eating habits.

Not anymore. I thank God everyday I changed that part of me.

I was at the gym by 402am this morning going to failure and feeling on fire…because I knew I was GIVING everything I had.

What my son thinks of me? I now know that I have to earn that respect.

Every day I have to earn the title of great father.

It doesn’t matter what I looked like in college, high school….WHO AM I TODAY?

We didn’t raise our kids back in the old days.

They are living with us NOW.

They are experiencing every blessing and flaw of our personality NOW.

If you have kids, there has never been a more important time to go all in on your health.

This isn’t about you anymore.
