An F-35A multirole fighter jet assigned to the US Air Force’s 354th Fighter Wing has crashed at Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks, Alaska. In a statement, the public affairs office of the 354th Fighter Wing confirmed that the pilot was “safe and has been transported to Basset Army Hospital for further evaluation.” Col. Paul Townsend added, “Our people are our most important resource, and we are committed in ensuring their safety and security. I can assure you the United States Air Force will conduct a thorough investigation in hopes to minimize the chances of such occurrences from happening again.”
