On 29 JAN 25, LTC Sargis Sangari USA (Ret.) was interviewed live from Panama on NTD NEWS, referencing China's control over the Panama Canal Means for The U.S.

LTC Sangari stated that as it stands now, it seems that this issue may be resolved peacefully with the SECSTATE Rubio's arrival using U.S. economic power. He further noted that on 28 JAN 25, a Panamanian source claimed that the two Chinese port companies operating in Panama are allegedly being audited, and it seems that there is some higher U.S. activity between U.S. banks and Panama, which would indicate that we may be willing to pay the losses if any which Panama may have suffered with the possible underpayment by the Chinese port companies.

The two Chinese port companies operating in Panama are managed by Hutchison Ports, a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings based in Hong Kong. Hutchison Ports operates the ports of Balboa and Cristobal at either end of the Panama Canal. The founder of CK Hutchison Holdings is Li Ka-shing, a prominent Hong Kong businessman. While Hutchison Ports is not state-owned, concerns exist regarding potential influence from the Chinese government due to its significant investments in mainland China.
