Saturday Studies 2nd Corinthians 9 2-1-2025

Paul continues his instruction and encouragement in giving in 2nd Corinthians chapter 9. He was in Macedonia and planning on going to Corinth, so he added this to his letter to encourage them to have their love offering reading when he got there. He gave several principles about giving that would be good for us to go by in our day:
- give whatever God put on their heart that they then purposed to do
- he who sows sparingly will reap sparingly
- he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully
- God loves a cheerful giver
- he never gave an amount or a percentage that they should give
We also discuss the mandatory giving and free-will giving under the Old Covenant (Mosaic Covenant) and the New Covenant.
