(One of the things I've learned over many decades that I've worked in the hi-tech industry is that unless we are willing to acknowledge competitive realities and the directions various developments are headed, we are likely to miss the 'boat' in our endeavors and even fail. The same observations apply at the international level among countries and their competitive focuses. Although this analysis between Danny & Scott is long, it is filled with many insights about what is happening that can affect our lives. It also offers suggestions on corrective possibilities.

Danny & Scott start by focusing on what has been happening in Ukraine. To think that the Ukrainian military can win against Russia is fantasy that will only result in more people killed and funds & equipment wasted. Trump has no political or military leverage against Putin with respect to Ukraine. Is he willing to recognize reality & Putin's requirements for bringing this to a close? The Middle East and especially Israel is another big problem. Israel's military has been defeated by Hamas, although a lot of factions within Israel and elsewhere are still deluding themselves. Is it even possible for Israel to recover?

Is it really that important for Trump to focus on the Panama Canal, even though some Chinese are helping manage it? China is building a huge port in Peru that will allow them to bypass ports in Mexico and the United States when trading with South America. China also has very advanced high speed trains that they could deploy from that port to transport products. Danny has traveled on these trains in China and is amazed at how fast & comfortable they really are. People have even demonstrated how a coin can be placed on edge and it will stay standing while the train is traveling at high speed.

There is a lot covered in this discussion. Maybe it is time for the US to take stock of what is really happening in the world and figure out how to cooperate with our best strengths, instead of constantly trying to defeat or slow down other countries and/or business endeavors that we consider to be competition. More focus on cooperation could benefit the entire world and elevate the lives of everyone. — RAD)
