A Final Farewell to The Simpsons Tapped Out | Over A Decade of Fun

The Simpsons Tapped Out's servers were shut down on Friday, January 25, 2025, thus ending this game. This game had a 10+ year lifespan, and being a part of such a big, long-standing franchise makes this shut down crazy. Anyhow, as such, this is my final video, a little farewell.

For me, I was only playing for about a year and a half plus maybe 6 months about 10 years ago, so the shut down isn't too devastating to me. But for those players whom have put a lot of time and effort into this game, building up a beautiful, well planned out town and sinking hours and hours per week into this, I feel for them. It's almost like it was all for nothing now. At the end of the day, the outcome is exactly the same as if they had never started in the first place.

I think maybe instead of a full shut down, they should have just let the game continue to exist as is - no updates or anything (like how TikTok is currently) but still allow players to login, play, continue to customize and expand their towns and such. Or something else, but just something to allow the long term players to continue to enjoy the game and their town.
