Burn: New Beginnings (part 13)

*With it becoming obvious that all the Devoted, and every other nightmare creature of this new fallen earth, are fleeing from the light burning off in the west, Benjamin Hawk and his people decide to head that way. Almost all of New York empties out as everyone heads west and Burn, and Gabriella, and Reign are no different. They too walk west yet as they do, and hidden away along a dark beach way to the south, something sinister is brewing. Traul, changed from the serum he took...now slightly Devoted like his father yet more human than his father...offers the Old One a solution. That nightmare beast cannot get any close to the light that burns in the west, and neither can any dark monster that already is bowing to it, but Traul can. He finds the light to be nothing, it burns him not at all, and he thinks that means he can give a power to the Old One that it does not yet have. He offers the Old One some of the blue, as much as that nightmare can take, straight from his eyes while also offering all the monsters that bow to the Old One all the very blood and essence from his very veins. Traul hopes this will give his strength against the light to everything of the dark and all he asks in return is what his own father wanted. Traul asks for Reign, to make his child like himself and for that boy to not be taken by the Old One or any who follow the Old One and the Old One quickly agrees. That creature takes blue from Traul, enough to saturate the first of his Original Corners of Midnight to reach his side. The Old One gives to Sumnaz enough strength to approach the light and stalk any who get near to it while Traul drains his essence, his body wasting away as he does, before he gives it to a pack of Werewolves who will be the first to consume all he has given [AI Art]*
