Our test filter is becomming massive . The one for testing the quarter font stamper system we will be using in the tooltip system .

I want to avoid unit tests , but the level of complexity in the current filter does not inspire confidence .

Particularly , we wrote a ping pong buffer sub system just for our font stamper filter ...

We need to take a step back and confirm the ping pong buffer works correctly .

I think this "glass block filter" idea could add a useful effect to our image library __AND__ give me confirmation that my more complex font stamper filter contains correct code .

Yes , I am writing filters as a way to avoid unit tests . Because there is more value in creating a filter that verifies correctness than a unit test .

Because the filter is also a deliverable product to my end user .
