Sri Lanka is home to one of the oldest civilizations in the world, and evidence of this rich heritage can be found all over the country. The ancient engineers of Sri Lanka created incredible marvels, many of which still stand as a testament to their brilliance.

During our journey to Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, we visited Hatthikuchchi, an ancient temple complex dating back to the 3rd century BCE—over 2200 years ago! Hidden deep within a lush green forest, the ruins of this sacred site offer a glimpse into the grandeur of Sri Lanka's past.

We explored Hatthikuchchi in the early morning, enjoying the serenity and tranquility of this lesser-known site. It felt like stepping back in time as we wandered through the peaceful forest with no other visitors in sight. This hidden gem is far from the usual tourist trail, making it a must-visit for history lovers and adventurers alike.
